Brazilian international Kaka has shrugged-off rumors of a move to the MLS and says he intends to commit his future to the Rossoneri. Speculations about the former Real Madrid man considering a move to Major Soccer League have been doing the round for a while now.
However, Kaka has squashed all such rumors by reiterating his desire to continue at Milan. “My wish is to remain but there are family issues that weigh heavy on my decision and I have to consider them,” Kaka said to Italian TV station Mediaset. “Fans should not worry because I will not play with their feelings. I will be the one to decide my future.” he further adds.
Kaka rejoined the Rossoneri at the start of the season on a free transfer from Real Madrid. His four year stint with the Spanish giants was far from impressive and was consistently eclipsed by the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema and Ozil. Injuries and underwhelming performances hampered his chances to make it to the starting XI.
A.C. Milan are enduring a torrid campaign this time, languishing 10th in the table and trailing leaders Juventus by a massive 42 points. Thereby, their missing out on Europe’s elite competition- the Champions League, has been speculated to be a factor in Kaka’s decision to move away from Milan as his contract includes a clause that he can terminate his agreement with club over the aforementioned reason.
The 32 year old has gone on to make over 300 appearances for the Italian side during two different spells and has over a 100 goals to his name. A Serie A title in his first season and a Champions League 3 years later are some of the laurels he’s achieved with the Milan club.
“The aim for Milan next season is to challenge for the league title and to return to play in the Champions League for the 2015-16 campaign,” said Kaka, who also believes Clarence Seedorf is the right man to guide Milan next season. The Dutch international and former Milan legend was hired during the month of January to replace then-sacked Massimiliano Alegri, despite having no coaching experience previously.
“Seedorf has to get used to being a coach and gain experience,” Kaka said. “He is an intelligent person and he is a fast learner. I am happy to work with him and I’m sure that given time, he can do very well.”
Milan are left with 3 more games to play to conclude a harrowing season and play city rivals Inter Milan at home this weekend.
