La Liga 2016-17: Real Betis 1-6 Real Madrid - Player Ratings

Madrid head back into winning ways

It’s a tennis score! Real Madrid not only walked away with all three points from Real Betis but also taught them a lesson. Toni Kroos and Isco made the midfield their own and did not let the Real Betis players do anything at all.

Varane started the assault in the 3rd minute and then it was a one-way traffic. Isco scored twice with Ronaldo, Benzema and Marcelo scoring one each to make it 6-1. Cejudo was the only Real Betis player to get on the scoresheet.

Here are the player ratings:

Adán - 5/10

Conceded 6 goals but was at fault only for the Benzema goal. Couldn't have done much for the other goals and made some great saves to keep it at this scoreline. Got no help from his defence at all.

Piccini - 4/10

Ronaldo and Marcelo made his look like a dummy in training and managed to get past him every single time. He could not do anything whatsoever in the game and it is generous to give him 4/10!

Mandi - 4.5/10

Did well to keep Benzema on his toes but was unable to do anything about the rest of the Real Madrid forwards.

Pezzella - 4.5/10

Along with Mandi, Pezzella did well to keep Benzema quite for some time and when Morata came on, Pezzella made sure to keep the young Spaniard on his toes as well.

Durmisi - 4/10

Gareth Bale played like Durmisi wasn't even on the pitch! There was no answer the left back had to Bale's runs and passes and was very poor in passing the ball or running down the line.

Petros - 4/10

Absolutely poor. Could not manage to keep hold of Isco and Kovacic and was manhandled

Jonas Martin - 5/10

One of the few Real Betis players who were actually willing to play their hearts out today. Wasn't afraid to try stuff and did well to create a couple of amazing chances.

Brasanac - 5/10

Could have done a lot more when he had the ball at his feet but didn't even manage to put through simple passes. Tried to do a lot of man marking on Isco but failed miserably.

Joaquín - 6/10

Only he and Castro showed any sort of an intent to play in the first half. Rest of the players just sat back and did absolutely nothing! Made a few brilliant passes but was not effective in front of goal.

Alegría - 6/10

Misplaced so many passes in the entire game. Could have assisted a couple, if goals if he had made the right choice of pass.

Rubén Castro - 7/10

Never gave up! He kept shooting from outside the box every now and then. Did his best to try and get his team back into the match when ever he got the chance but missed all the the time.

Cejudo - 7/10

He changed the game for Real Betis when he came on at half-time. Made the space and brought in the creativity to the lacklustre Betis side. Scored a superb goal within 10 minutes of coming on.

Zozulia - 4/10

Came on at half-time but did not manage any significant impact on the game. The most impactful contribution he made was stopping a Real Betis counter-attack by fouling Vasques.

Ceballos - 5/10

Made some good passes but apart from that, he could not manage to spark a comeback. He was brought on to try and add more creativity in the midfield but just could not bring on a bit of magic.

Back to winning ways

Navas - 7/10

Nothing much to do the entire game and when he could have done something, he conceded. All the saves he made will look good on his statistical page but in reality, all of them were very easy!

Carvajal - 7/10

Rather quite first half but was very much on the ball during the 2nd half. Did well to keep the Real Betis wingers quite on and made sure they did not manage to put in good crosses into the box.

Pepe - 8/10

Played very well in the first half but was sloppy in the 2nd. Unselfishly assisted Isco but it was his error that lead to the Real Betis goal. Solid performance at the back apart from that goal.

Varane - 8.5/10

Brilliant from start to the end. Not one of his best games ever but he just seems to have got everything right today. Scored the first goal with a brilliant header and then game the Real Betis forwards a nightmare!

Marcelo - 9.5/10

Best player tonight by a mile! Captained the side to a marvellous victory and lead from the front. His passes, crosses and shots were all brilliant from start to the end.

Kroos - 8/10

Controlled the midfield as usual. His run to set up Benzema is something he will not be forgetting for some time. Nobody managed to get close to him and did so well to make sure that Madrid didn't miss Modric too much tonight.

Kovacic - 8/10

Stepped up and played excellently. Luke Modric might be proud of his performance today as he along with Kross kept the Real Betis midfielders quite and put in some amazing balls to the Real Madrid forward line.

Isco - 9/10

A stunning performance capped by two goals. Just seems to have got everything right today. Showed Zidane why he should be picked every week.

Bale - 8.5/10

Outclassed and outpaced the Real Betis defenders with ease today. Missed out on a well deserved goal because of the goalpost early in the first half.

Ronaldo - 8/10

Not one of his best matches but still managed to grab a goal. Tried a lot of trickery and skills but his free kicks and long range passes weren't to his standard. His miss from 3 yards out in the first half is also something he won't forget for some time.

Benzema - 7.5/10

Wasted several good chances created by Bale, Ronaldo and Isco. Could have done a lot better in the box but his goal made his performance look a lot better than it actually was.

Vasquez - 6.5/10

Played a good role in keeping the ball when Real Madrid players weren't able to keep hold of the ball for a long time. Made sure that the Real Betis counters were stopped in the midfield itself.

Morata - 7/10

Assisted Ronaldo's goal and made some very good runs into the box. Did not manage to get his shots away today because of the Real Betis centre-backs but made sure he made space for his teammates.

Asensio - N/A

Did not make much of an impact after coming on.
