Gianluigi Buffon announced that he was set to leave Paris Saint-Germain just a year after joining them. The Ligue 1 side also confirmed his departure and rumours started spreading about his next destination.

Some reports in Italy suggested that Barcelona were looking to sign the veteran goalkeeper on a free transfer. Jasper Cillessen, Barcelona's current 2nd choice keeper, is looking to leave the club this summer and the Catalan side are keen on signing a replacement.

Sky Italia joined the two dots and linked Buffon with a shock move to Camp Nou. However, Mundo Deportivo have now rebuffed the speculations and claimed that a club source has denied any interest in the former Juventus goalkeeper.

Other reports suggest that Buffon is set to return to Italy with Parma while a player-coach role is also on offer at Juventus.
