Lindegaard: Manchester United will be more successful than ever after transition

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard insists that the Old Trafford side will regain their spot in the upper echelons of English football, pointing to the club’s history as evidence for his belief. He conceded that the current squad is a team in transition, but told the Express that their targets will not be realigned to more modest goals and that they will bounce back.

United have experienced a tumultuous start to life under new manager David Moyes, with last season’s champions seventh in the Premier League and out of the FA Cup. Lindegaard is yet to feature in the league this season, but insists that his team-mates will turn their fortunes around.

“Manchester United is the most successful club in English football,” he opened.

“That is not going to change. It is how it is. It is in the genes of the club and is going to continue.

“We are in the middle of the transition. I am sure when the transition is fulfilled we will be as successful as we have ever been.

“Manchester United is not going to realign if what you mean by that is start to look lower.

“Look at the history of this club. That is not going to happen at Manchester United.”

In his ten appearances last season, Lindegaard was successful in 97% of his attempted claims.
