Lionel Messi and his father accused of tax fraud in Spain

Spanish tax authorities have accused Argentine footballer Lionel Messi of fraud. Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and his father have been charged by Spanish tax authorities of cheating the state of more than 4 million euros.

According to a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office for tax crimes in Catalonia, Messi and his father, Jorge, allegedly filed fake tax returns for the years of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
