Lionel Messi goes on a war with FC Barcelona
Signing midfield reinforcements has become FC Barcelona's number one priority. Lionel Messi is on the same page as the club on this and has demanded two signings in that position - Miralem Pjanic and Thiago Alcantara. Messi rates Pjanic highly and is on good terms with Thiago.
Messi believes that signing two midfielders can prove to be an inspired move. But according to Don Balon, the club hierarchy does not agree. With the signing of Arthur already secured for January, Barcelona want to sign only one midfielder (Pjanic) this summer.
This may make for an intriguing power battle between the club and it's most crucial asset. Messi wants the duo of Pjanic and Thiago and may have to use all his might to make the club sign his preferred choices.
Gareth Bale wants assurances over playing time
The Welshman sparked rumours over his future at the Champions League final last month. His agent has now revealed that he will have a meeting with the Spanish giants over his client's demands.
Jonathan Barnett told Sky Sports, "I think we have to have a chat with Real Madrid and see where we're going. He wants a better year than he had last year. He wants to play more, and that's paramount to him. It's not about money."
