Arsenal's star man, Alexis Sanchez, has picked his greatest XI ever to have played the game of football. However, not a single Arsenal player features in the team with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo missing out as well.

The 27-year-old Chile International selected his ultimate starting XI, the video of which was posted on Arsenal's official YouTube channel. The team, which consists of only three current players, gives an insight to which players have inspired the two-time Copa America winner.

German World Cup winner Oliver Kahn is the goalkeeper in Sanchez's team, with the German getting the nod "because of his desire and hunger to win, to save every ball.”

He has paired up Carlos Puyol and AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini as his central defenders. He believes the Spanish World Cup winner is “a captain who inspires, who creates energy and enthusiasm in others.”

Roberto Carlos who "is one of the best players in the world in that position", was picked at the left full-back position by Sanchez. "(Carlos was) just amazing on the ball," added the midfielder.

Another Brazillian, Cafu, was picked for the right full back position thereby completing the four-man defence. According to Sanchez, Cafu "would make fantastic attacking runs down the flank." The "heart of the team" would be Xavi, who Alexis thinks is the best ball-holding player in midfield.

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho would lead the attack from the midfield "because of the sheer magic he weaves and the sense of joy he creates." Maradona would also feature in the midfield along with Xavi and Ronaldinho. Sanchez mentioned, "I just love watching him play."

Three forwards were selected in the XI, with Brazilian goal-machine Ronaldo, "the phenomenon", would be in the middle. Alexis Sanchez has declared that in his opinion Ronaldo is "the best player of all time." Maradona's successor, Lionel Messi, would play from the right wing as "he is one of the best in that position" while the legendary Pele would play from the left wing. Pele would be given all the freedom to "do whatever he wants."

While Alexis' team features most of the greatest players in football, it does not have any Arsenal player in the line-up. Not even the likes of Dennis Bergkamp or Thierry Henry make the XI which might upset the Gunners fan base.

The diminutive winger thinks that his team would perform "pretty well", and we certainly agree with you, Alexis.
