El Mundo has reported that Lionel Messi has a unique clause in his current Barcelona contract which can let him leave the Catalan giants for free. It is claimed that Messi has a release clause of €700 million on a deal that he penned in November.

But Messi has inserted a get-out clause which will let him leave for free if Catalonia achieves independence from Spain. The current political turmoil in the region has led Messi to keep a clause of such nature.

Real Madrid linked with David Luiz

The Daily Express has named Real Madrid as the latest club to register an interest in David Luiz. Los Blancos are reportedly on the lookout for a defender this January while Chelsea are ready to offload Luiz this month. The Brazilian is desperate to leave Chelsea in order to keep his World Cup hopes alive. Arsenal and FC Barcelona are the other clubs linked with the 30-year-old.

Spurs are worried about the midfielder's fitness issues and are willing to do business for the box to box player in the summer.

Juventus confident of signing Emre Can

The Italian champions are said to be close to completing a deal for Liverpool's Emre Can. According to the Guardian, Can has been offered a five-year deal by the club with a £85,000 per week wage structure and a considerable signing on fee. The German is in the last six months of his Liverpool deal and is expected to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus this month.

Schalke angered by Bayern Munich's comments on Leon Goretzka

Schalke chief executive Christian Heidel has blasted Bayern Munich over their public approach for Leon Goretzka. Munich's club official had admitted that the Bavarians were interested in signing the in-demand midfielder which irked the Schalke hierarchy.

Heidel said, "We do not want any unrest at Schalke. Bayern insist Leon is a Schalke player but still talk about a Schalke player more than they do any of their own. As a result, the transfer rumours are fuelled."

Antonio Conte's comments about the club not delivering his desired transfer targets has reportedly not gone down well with Roman Abrahimovic. The Times has reported that the Russian oligarch is ready to sack Conte after the end of the season if the Italian fails to deliver a trophy this term.

Chelsea have lined up Diego Simeone to take over from Conte at Stamford Bridge. The Argentinian boss was Chelsea's initial choice to lead the Blues two years ago before a deal for Conte was finalized. Positive signs have reportedly emerged from the Simeone camp about the gaffer's intention to coach in the Premier League.

Everton set to complete Cenk Tosun deal tonight

The Toffees have reportedly agreed a fee with Besiktas for the sale of striker Cenk Tosun. A forward was high on Sam Allardyce's wishlist this winter and he has found a player who fits the bill at a price of £27 million. Tosun will sign a four and a half year deal at Goodison Park but won't be an Everton player in time for the Merseyside derby.

And now if Gazzetta Dello Sport are to be believed, he is being linked with a move back to Santos on a short-term loan spell if his parent club agrees to pay a chunk of his salary.
