Lionel Messi set to become the highest paid footballer in the world

According to British newspaper The Daily Mail, Lionel Messi is going to be the highest paid footballer in the world within a couple of weeks. Messi will receive a huge 12.5 million pounds a year (110 crores in INR) along with other incentives.

Messi’s father George is monitoring all these matters.

Barcelona have shown their intention to retain Messi for the long-term and President Sandro Rosell is quite keen to extend the deal with the 25-year-old attacker as he wants Messi to fulfil his dreams while at Barcelona.

Messi’s current take-home pay without any bonuses is approximately nine million pounds a year, which is below Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 12 million pounds and Samuel Eto’o’s 16 million pounds a year.
