The Liverpool full-back duo of Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson sizzled against AC Milan.

They once again showed why they are considered one of the most dangerous duos in the game, especially in recent times. Against Milan, they displayed why that was the case with superb showings, causing the visitors lots of problems from either flank.

Alexander-Arnold, in particular, did not pass up an opportunity to foray forward and played a key role in Liverpool's opener. He kept a steady stream of dangerous crosses coming in throughout the game, keeping the Milan backline on their toes.

#4 Flop: Naby Keita (Liverpool)

Naby Keita (right) had a disappointing outing in midfield for the Reds.

Harvey Elliott’s unfortunate injury in Liverpool’s previous outing meant Naby Keita had a great chance to stake a claim for extended game time. Handed a starting role against Milan, Keita failed to make the most of the opportunity, though, producing an underwhelming display.

The Guinean international failed to make an impact on proceedings, and was a spectator for most of the game. As such, it came as no surprise when he was replaced by Thiago Alcantara in the 70th minute.

#5 Hit: Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan)

Tomori (left) put in an impressive performance in defence for Milan.

Despite ending up on the wrong side of the scoreline, Fikayo Tomori impressed with a strong defensive performance. One of the few Milan players with experience of playing Liverpool at Anfield, Tomori used his pace and physicality to great effect.

The young Englishman made a series of important tackles throughout the game, snuffing out Liverpool attacks. Even though one such tackle resulted in Liverpool’s opener, which went down as a Tomori own goal, the player undoubtedly enhanced his reputation with an otherwise immaculate display at Anfield.
