If there was a time for Jurgen Klopp to make an inspirational substitution, it was against Barcelona and he did that when he brought on Wijnaldum for the injured Andrew Robertson and shifted James Milner to left-back.

What was notable from that substitution was the fact that Wijnaldum was virtually playing as a number 10, just behind Origi. The Dutchman was able to make his way into the box with every given opportunity. Wijnaldum scored two goals very important goals and perhaps, he was the difference between Liverpool losing the tie and winning it.

His first goal was a classic midfielder's run into the box and finish, while his second was a proper striker's header. The Dutchman also defended valiantly late into the match and Wijnaldum proved again why he has been one of the best midfielders in the world this season.
