Liverpool showed their attacking prowess on the night

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool secured their qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League with a thumping 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow at Anfield. The Reds were at their destructive best from the word go and goals from Philippe Coutinho, who grabbed a hat-trick, Sadio Mane (2), Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah ensured that they dominated the game thoroughly.

The result meant that Liverpool have qualified as winners of Group E while Spartak Moscow will become the latest side to drop down to the Europa League. Here we take a look at how the players from both sides fared during the goal-fest at Merseyside:

Liverpool FC

Lorius Karius - 7/10

Karius did not have a lot to do on the night, thanks to Spartak Moscow's inability to pose a real threat while going forward. The shot-stopper was in total command of his penalty area and did well to keep a clean sheet.

Joe Gomez - 7/10

The youngster was also part of a Liverpool defence that was largely untrobuled on the night, due to the real contrast in talent possessed by the teams.

Ragnar Klavan - 7/10

Klavan showed real conviction at the back and did well to keep the opposition attackers at bay throughout the full ninety minutes on the night.

Dejan Lovren - 7/10

Lovren also had an easy day at the office and faced little problems when he came up against a toothless Spartak Moscow side that lacked any real intent while going forward.

Alberto Moreno - 6/10

The Spaniard displayed good compusre at the back after a long time but had to come off in the first half due to a minor injury that he picked up before the break.

Georginio Wijnaldum - 7/10

The midfielder quickly established his presence in midfield and did well to break down the opposition's attack while simulatenously looking up to pick a pass whenever possible.

Emre Can - 7/10

Can also enjoyed the freedom he received in the middle of the park and made his counter-parts from Spartak Moscow look below par with his commanding performance on the night.

Philippe Coutinho - 10/10

A complete all-round performance from Coutinho, who rightfully took the match-ball home with a brilliant hat-trick. The Brazilian was simply unstoppable on the night and single-handedly destroyed the opponents.

Mohamed Salah - 8/10

Salah managed to grab the goal that he deserved in the end and capped off a convincing performance by getting on the scoresheet, yet again.

Roberto Firmino - 7/10

Firmino enjoyed every minute leading the Liverpool attack and played his part in the build-up to the goals, while also managing to get on the scoresheet for the Reds.

Sadio Mane - 8/10

Mane caused all kinds of problems to the Spartak Moscow defenders with his destructive pace and nimble footwork on the night. His quality in the final third was unmatched and there was no stopping him.

Substitutes

James Milner - 7/10

Milner did well after replacing Moreno towards the end of the first half and also contributed with an assist for Mane's first goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 6/10

The youngster replaced Lovren at the hour mark and fitted right into the heart of the Reds' defence that looked almost unassailable on the night.

Daniel Sturridge - 6/10

Sturridge selflessly passed the ball to Mane for his second goal and was involved in a lot of attempts by Liverpool towards the end.

Spartak Moscow

Aleksandr Selikhov - 2/10

A disappointing night for everyone starting from Selikhov in goal, who had no answer to Liverpool's clinical performance in front of goal.

Georgi Dzhikiya - 2/10

The defender conceded the penalty that opened the floodgates for Liverpool on the night and could not keep up with the likes of Salah and Mane throughout the game.

Salvatore Bocchetti - 3/10

Bocchetti had nothing to nullify Liverpool's destructive display in the final third and was kept on his toes for the majority of the game.

Serdar Tasci - 2/10

Tasci also had a tough outing with Mane in such scintillating form for the Reds. The defender was caught out of position on many instances and hesitated while making key decisions.

Andrey Yeshchenko - 3/10

The full-back could not break his lines and get forward due to Liverpool's impressive attacking display and he paid the price for trying to outsmart his opponents in the build-up to Mane's goal.

Fernando - 4/10

The midfielder came up against a solid Liverpool midfield that ran over him completely and failed to leave a lasting impact on the game.

Denis Glushakov - 5/10

Glushakov showed glimpses of good form at a few instances but eventually faded off as Liverpool settled in and gained more traction as the game progressed.

Quincy Promes - 4/10

A disappointing performance from the winger who failed to create any problem whatsoever for the Liverpool defenders who managed to unsettle him and come out on top for the majority of the game.

Luiz Adriano - 5/10

Adriano also failed to lift up the spirits of his side while going forward and had nobody to look up to while constantly trying to force an error out of the Liverpool defence.

Roman Zobnin - 4/10

Yet another player who displayed a dismal performance on the night, Zobnin would have certainly enjoyed more involvement on the ball despite lacking quality whenever he had the slightest of opportunities.

Ze Luis - 4/10

The striker failed miserably while trying to lead the line for Spartak Moscow on the night and maybe could have done better with a little more service from the players behind him.

Substitutes

Lorenzo Melgarejo - 3/10

Despite coming on early in the second half, Melgarejo failed to make any impact on the game and was left out as a passenger throughout the second half.

Mario Pasalic - 3/10

The midfielder also struggled after coming on in the second half as Liverpool gained more traction and showed no signs of slowing down.

Aleksandr Samedov - 3/10

Samedov replaced Promes in the 75th minute and had too little time and opportunity to make any difference for his side who had already succumbed to a humiliating defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
