As Team India lifted their 6th Asia cup title by beating Bangladesh in the final, congratulations started pouring in. The famous English football club Liverpool too joined the bandwagon and congratulated Team India on their official Facebook page.

Liverpool too had a great day on the field on Sunday. They had a dramatic victory over Crystal Palace in an English Premier League game in the dying seconds of the game.
Team India, on the other hand, didn’t face as many challenges as their well-wishers did. It was only when Mahmudullah struck those meaty blows India looked a bit jolted. Rohit Sharma’s early departure also caused a bit of tension in the Indian dugout. But the partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli steadied the Indian ship.
After Dhawan’s dismissal, Indian skipper MS Dhoni promoted himself up the order and came to bat. The stage was all set for Dhoni to shine in the final and clinch the Asia Cup.
Dhoni was at his destructive best as he finished the game with seven balls to spare. The skipper first thumped the Bangladeshi fast bowler Al-Amin for a 104 metre six in the first ball of the penultimate over. Dhoni hit another six off the same bowler to finish the game in his quintessential manner, he does seem to have a knack of finishing games by hitting maximums.
It’s a well-known fact that Liverpool enjoys a healthy fan base in India. There are plenty of supporters of the club in India who loved the gesture. Liverpool certainly won many hearts and one can bet that they did no harm to their reputation in India.
