Liverpool’s Glen Johnson Slams Deluded Critics

Glen Johnson has taken to Twitter to slam what he feels as senseless criticism

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has hit out at the critics who lambasted him and his team’s performance against Crystal Palace on Monday night, after the league leaders capitulated at Selhurst Park.

Liverpool lead comfortably in South London with the score at 3-0, however, a remarkable turnaround in the last fifteen-minutes meant that Liverpool went home with just one point, which reduced Luis Suarez to tears.

The Reds conceded three goals late on and are now banking on Aston Villa to defeat Manchester City at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday night to leave Brendan Rodgers’ men with any hope of claiming their first Premier League title.

Plenty of Liverpool players came under intense scrutiny at the full-time whistle, including Glen Johnson, who was heavily criticised for his performance in the last quarter of the game by the likes of Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

The England right-back was thoroughly impressive for the first seventy-minutes, however, several pundits questioned why he carried on attacking despite Liverpool being severely under pressure in the closing stages.

He replied to his detractors via Twitter on Monday night, hitting out at the ‘clueless’ critics who put him in the spotlight.
