Liverpool had plenty of chances to win it!

9-Nov-2009, Anfield, Liverpool : The season seems to be getting worse and worse for all the Liverpool fans as they managed only a draw against lowly ranked Birmingham at home.

Liverpool took the lead in the first half with Ngog hitting a scorcher past the brave goalkeeper who has already saved two shots within 5 seconds before the goal.

Birmingham scored the equalizer through a poorly defended aerial ball in the D and then took the lead in the first half injury time.

Liverpool came out with all guns blazing in the second half and launched a fury of attacks but Birmingham stood firm before a lucky break through penalty. Ngog dived over the defender when referee pointed to the spot and Liverpool was level again.

Home team had plenty of chances to win the game but couldn’t convert a draw to three points and a possible 4^th place in League table.

A game which saw Gerrard return to Premier league and Riera getting injured again could have gone much better for the reds.

Looks like Benitez will be walking alone at the end of this season.
