Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has played down suggestions that he could be about to leave Anfield in favour of a switch to Milan to join Inter.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that Lucas could be on his way out of Liverpool having lost his place in the starting line-up because of the Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard axis.
Speaking to FC Inter news Lucas said: “I can say that at the moment I have received no offers. Liverpool have never contacted me regarding this possibility (moving to Inter).”
“So I can’t say there is a chance of me going to Inter because I am under contract at Liverpool.
“Serie A definitely is a great league though.”
Lucas’ lack of appearances this season is believed to have contributed to his exclusion from Brazil’s World Cup squad.
He has played with Inter Milan midfielder Hernanes at international level and when asked about the possibility of playing with his friend he said: “Us playing together one day? I have known Hernanes for a long time and we have already played together many times at international level.”
