Liverpool reportedly sent scouts to the Spain to keep eyes on Real Sociedad duo Antoine Griezmann and Inigo Martinez, according to the Daily Mail, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Granada on Monday night.
Rodgers is already planning recruitments, particularly in defence after some poor performances recently, as he aims to strengthen ahead of next season.
Griezmann has been highly-sought after in the last couple of seasons, particularly after helping the Spanish side reach the Champions League last season.
The Frenchman has been in good form this season, despite Sociedad’s inability to build on their success from last season. The Spanish outfit will finish fifth in the La Liga, which means no Champions League football this time around, which has led to speculation surrounding the wingers future.
Griezmann, who is 24-years-old, has scored 16 goals in all competitions for Sociedad this season and Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on the French international, who will most likely be travelling to the World Cup in the summer.
Liverpool staff were also keeping tabs on Griezmann’s team-mate, Inigo Martinez. The centre-back is reportedly a target for a number of clubs across Europe and Rodgers will be keen to recruit Martinez to bolster his fragile defensive line.
The club also managed to keep tabs on an existing player, with Tiago Ilori in the opposition line-up playing for Granada. The Portuguese has impressed during his loan spell at the club, particularly after a man of the match performance against Barcelona last month
