Hello and welcome to the Liverpool FC transfer roundup for the day. As the season ticks down, Jurgen Klopp has been forced to utilize his players in unorthodox positions because of the injuries, mainly in defence. He has made it clear that he is not a big fan of the January transfer window, but he welcomed Virgil Van Dijk last winter which has changed the fortunes of the Merseysiders.

With Nathaniel Clyne being loaned out to Bournemouth until the end of the season, the Reds are facing a crisis in the right-back department. On the other hand, there have often been complaints about the creativity from the midfield department. Will the German make a move in the upcoming days?

Philippe Coutinho comeback unlikely

Philippe Coutinho, who left Liverpool to join the reigning LaLiga Champions, has struggled to nail a spot in the starting eleven of Barcelona. The Brazilian had a fantastic season last term by scoring and assisting on a regular basis, but he has fallen behind Ousmane Dembele and Arturo Vidal in the pecking order in the wide and central areas.

Jurgen Klopp is against the idea of re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, the Mirror understands. It is understandable as the Reds have spent more than 150 million in the summer transfer window to strengthen their side. There is no doubt that Barcelona would want to at least recoup the same amount they paid Liverpool one year ago.

Tottenham want Divock Origi

Following Harry Kane's injury which will keep him out for until March, Mauricio Pochettino has started to look at his alternatives. With Fernando Llorente only at disposal, the English outfit are currently in the necessity of a lethal striker.

According to BBC Sport( via Telegraph), Divock Origi is a shocking candidate to replace Harry Kane temporarily in the forward line. The Belgian has been in fine fettle by netting the late winner in the Merseyside derby and scored another one in a 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup. It is reported that the London side are currently seeking a loan deal for the forward.

Liverpool's Simon Mignolet will not be allowed to leave Liverpool in the January transfer window, according to ESPN. The Belgian International lost his spot to Loris Karius last term and the arrival of Alisson Becker for a huge amount has dented his chances of staying between the sticks.

There were various rumours linking Mignolet with OGC Nice in the winter window, but those reports were unauthentic according to Patrick Viera. Even though he has made two appearances this term, he will get his opportunity to speak with other clubs in January window.
