Liverpool’s wonder kid in action

Liverpool starlet Cameron Brannagan is being scouted by Barcelona after impressing this season. The scouts were present during Liverpool’s under 21 game against Leicester City. The Catalans are known for spotting young talents as well as producing their own.

Brannagan has been touted to have a bright future and has already featured in Liverpool’s first team this season under Jurgen Klopp.Despite only being 19 he is a regular for the under 21s and signed a professional contract with the Reds in 2013.

Barcelona are famous for their recruitment of the world's best youngsters with Lionel Messi being a prime example. According to SPORT, the Catalans saw interest in the player after his performance against their La Masia team in the UEFA Youth League.

And the scouts were once again treated to a wonderful showing from the midfielder as he netted an absolute scorcher against Leicester City in the under 21 game. Branngan made his debut for the senior team back in September against Marseille in the Europa League

He has gone on to make six appearances in total for the Merseysiders, his most recent appearance coming in January of 2016 in a draw against West Ham United. Jurgen Klopp has been highly impressed with the youngster’s development this season.

“He's a great young guy. I like his style. For his age he brings everything you need for a midfield player he wants to play football, he's strong, he's clear, he's cool.”

“It's not easy for these guys to train for the first time with a new manager and think always "he's going to make a final judgement" or something like this. That's not how I work but these guys don't know this. I enjoy working with these guys. He's really a talent”

The 19-year old’s performances earned him a new contract in October and the Reds will want to keep hold of their young star as they rate him very highly. The midfielder is a youth product of Liverpool’s academy and joined the club when he was only 5.

Since then he has gone from strength to strength impressing at both under 18 and under 21 level. It will be difficult for Liverpool to keep hold of the youngster because it’s not every day one gets the chance to play for one of the best clubs in the world.
