London, Munich bid to host semis and final of Euro 2020

London, April 26 (IANS) London and Munich have submitted their bids to host the semifinals and final of the Euro 2020.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced in January 2013 that 13 cities, each from one of their member associations, will co-host Euro 2020 with each providing a single stadium for the 24-team tournament, reports Xinhua.

A total of 19 stadia in 19 cities officially submitted bids to host the tournament before the deadline Friday with only Wembley Stadium in London and Munich’s Allianz Arena bidding to host the semis and the final.

Euro 2020 host cities are to be chosen in September.
