The Premier League has been home to some of the best forwards over the years. Strikers like Theirry Henry, Didier Drogba, Alan Shearer and many more have graced the league and amazed fans all over the world.

Numerous goal-scoring records were made by such players and broken as well. One such record is of scoring in consecutive Premier League games. Ruud van Nistelrooy held this record for 12 years before Jamie Vardy broke it in 2015. Vardy still holds the record of the longest goal-scoring streak in the Premier League.

Let us look at some of the longest goal-scoring streaks that have been achieved in the Premier League over the years.


#1 Jamie Vardy (11 matches)

Jamie Vardy is the current leader in the race for Premier League's Golden Boot with 12 goals. Vardy has been in inspired form throughout this season and has been instrumental in Leicester City's successful campaign so far this term. It was in 2015-2016 when Vardy took the Premier League by storm, scoring 24 goals and leading Leicester to a historic Premier League title.

He also broke the record of scoring in most consecutive Premier League matches, which was previously held by Ruud van Nistelrooy, by scoring in 11 consecutive games. His goalscoring run started off against Bournemouth and ended when he was unable to score against Swansea City. Leicester fans and Vardy will be hoping he can come close to this record again this season as they look to challenge Liverpool for the title.

#2 Ruud van Nistelrooy (10 matches)

The legendary United striker is one of the Premier League's all-time greats. Ruud van Nistelrooy achieved the feat of scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games over two seasons.

The Dutchman scored in the final 8 games during the 2002-2003 season and started off the season 2003-2004 by scoring in 2 consecutive matches. This should not be a surprise as Nistelrooy was a prolific goal scorer and held this record for 12 years.

#3 Ruud van Nistelrooy and Daniel Sturridge (8 matches)

Daniel Sturridge was scoring for fun alongside Luiz Suarez during the 2013-2014 season for Liverpool. Sturridge ended the season with 21 goals in the Premier League. During this season, Sturridge went on an amazing goal-scoring run, wherein he scored for 8 consecutive games in the Premier League.

Ruud van Nistelrooy finds himself on this list again. He scored for 8 consecutive games in his first season in the Premier League and achieved this feat during the 2001-2002 campaign.

#4 Thierry Henry, Ian Wright, Emmanuel Adebayor, Alan Shearer, Mark Stein - 7 matches

The Premier League's record goalscorer Alan Shearer accomplished this feat while playing for Newcastle United. Lastly, Mark Stein achieved this feat while playing for Chelsea during the 1993-1994 season.
