Liverpool superstar Luis Suarez has revealed that he gets embarrassed when he watches himself back on TV, and that ‘nobody in England knows the real Luis Suarez’.

Suarez has had a much-maligned time in England but has settled down this season and earned acclaim as one of the best footballers on the planet. He has consistently performed to an incredible standard this season and leads the goal-scoring charts with 24 goals in 23 matches.

He also leads the assists charts in the Premier League having created 10 goals all season. He is in the form of his life and has scored some incredible goals all season.

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Suarez got personal and revealed a truth about himself that he had previously kept close to his chest.

“On the pitch, I argue, I shout, I talk rubbish and generally do anything I can to get ahead. I’m totally different,” he said.

“I forget about everything else, sometimes I’m a bit embarrassed by all the shouting when I see it back.

“Away from the pitch, I’m a very calm person. I maybe have the odd crossword with my wife, like any relationship, but that’s it.

“Nobody in England knows the real Luis Suarez.”

The Reds striker says he is slowly adapting to “the English way”. Unlike when he first arrived at Anfield, Suarez admits he now tries to stay on his feet more after being tackled.

“Everybody has their way of behaving on the pitch. I now try and stay on my feet more than in the past because I’m learning the English way.

“Before I’d feel a touch and go down more, so I think I’ve matured again in that respect.”

Suarez has directly contributed to 34 goals for Liverpool this season, that’s almost half of their total of 73.
