#2 Experienced players stepped up amid injury crisis

Manchester United were in a bit of a crisis going into the game against Leicester City with Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot all missing out due to injuries. However, the experienced players- who were forced into the starting XI to replace the wounded stepped up massively.

While both Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic played their part in United's victory over the Foxes, Ashley Young was the one who stole the limelight with his astute defensive performance. Despite not being a popular figure amongst Manchester United supporters, the 33-year-old showed that he is more than capable of doing the job when called upon and why the manager shows so much faith in him. Young was one of the best players on the pitch for Manchester United against Leicester City making seven recoveries, completing five clearances and winning 100% of his attempted tackles.

When Scott McTominay arrived at the scene under Jose Mourinho a couple of years ago, many Red Devil supporters believed that the Scot was preferred by the Portuguese tactician due to his physical stature and that he doesn't possess the technical ability to be a Manchester United player.

Now, he is one of the best players on the pitch for Manchester United and dearly adored by the supporters. The 22-year-old has massively improved his game and looks like a Manchester United player- both in terms of quality and mentality.

The Scot dropped another Man-of-the-Match performance against Leicester City and was by far Manchester United's best player on the pitch- showing great energy and tenacity in the middle of the park. The 22-year-old completed the most passes, won 100% of his tackles and completed 7 ball recoveries during the 90 minutes against Leicester City. McTominay is showing that he is a far better player than many believe him to be by putting in solid performances week after week.
