Yevhen Konoplyanka targetted by Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly willing to pay the €15m (£12.1m) buyout clause for Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka who is allegedly willing to join United despite no Champions League football next season.

United and Schalke 04 are set to be interested in the youngster along with Liverpool. Manchester United and Schalke scouts were seen at Dnipro’s final game of the season against Metalurg Donetsk on Sunday. Dnipro ended the season as runners up and have secured a place in the UEFA Champions League season next season but Konoplyanka is apparently happy to join United this summer.

Dnipro’s sporting director, Andrey Stetsenko says that the club are already looking for replacements for Konoplyanka.

“Our scouts are working to find his replacement. Sooner or later Konoplyanka will leave Dnipro.

“We know that English, Spanish and German clubs are monitoring the situation and are interested in the player. But we have no offers. His contract has a buyout clause worth €15m for foreign clubs. For Ukrainian clubs the buyout is more.”

The 24-year-old has garnered interest from various clubs following his impressive performances last season where he scored 13 goals in 34 appearances for Dnipro and Louis van Gaal is keen on signing the youngster to provide more options out wide after Ashley Young and Nani constantly disappointing this season.
