Manchester United 2015-16 kit leaked

Manchester United signed a new kit deal with Adidas last season that will see the two entities partner each other for the next 10 years. The new kit deal is worth £750m to the Red Devils for the whole duration of the contract.

Their contract with the previous kit sponsors Nike runs out on the last day of July, which could possibly be the reason for United’s delay in launching their kit for the new season. However, several blurry images of the purported kit design have been floated online by various sources.

Some of them clearer than others but the latest bunch of pictures to hit the net have shown the most legitimate looking kit design so far.

Design and History

It shows a trademark three stripe approach from Adidas with watermarks on the iconic red of the Old Trafford club. The marks on the shirt appear to be a homage to the 1992 Manchester United away kit. It was a season when they won the League Cup for the first time beating Nottingham Forest 1-0.

It also marked the last time Adidas sponsored United's kits. It was between 1980 and 1992 that the Red Devils donned Adidas kits, that was followed by a stint with Umbro before switching to Nike and now back to Adidas.

The Pre-season tour

The club is set to begin it’s pre-season tour in he United States of America on July 17. They will play in a friendly tournament named the “International Champions Cup”. They face Club America, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and San Jose Earthquakes in the tournament.

Their new signings Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Morgan Schneiderlin have all traveled with the team for the pre-season games. Goalkeeper David De Gea who has strongly been linked with a move to Real Madrid also accompanied the squad.

All the matches are scheduled to be played before August 1 which is the earliest date at which the new kit deal can come into effect.
