#3 Nemanja Matic

Matic is slowly gaining his form back for the Red Devils
Most often the silent architect of the team, Nemanja Matic has hogged the limelight for different reasons this time. The Serbian has been in poor form for Manchester United ever since the start of the season and has been at fault for quite a few times in games. It seemed that he was tired and had been caught off the pace by the younger and faster players in the opposition. There were even calls for him to be relegated to the bench permanently.

A man who shared a special relationship with Mourinho, Matic could have feared for his place in the team after the arrival of Solskjaer. However, his new boss understood his pedigree and trusted the Serbian to turn his season around soon. Against Cardiff, Matic had been decent, but at Old Trafford on Wednesday, the Serbian had his best game of the season.
Matic was strong while covering and nifty when with the ball. For a majority of the first half, he did the cleaning job, juggling Fred's forward runs and adjusting his positions to nullify the counter-attacks. In between that, he scored the all-important opening goal and eased the tension around Old Trafford.
Herrera's arrival in the second half released all the pressure and Matic stamped his authority in the game. His passing was immaculate, and his distribution reminded everyone of the player that had taken the Premier League by storm couple of years ago. Against Huddersfield, Nemanja Matic returned from the dead and Solskjaer should be very pleased.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
