Manchester United reportedly ready to bid £60m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is target for Manchester United

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Borussia Dortmund over the potential transfer of Gabon international, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The striker has been in mind-boggling form this season scoring 36 goals in 38 games for both club and country and Manchester United are willing to bid as high up as £60m to secure his services.

While Manchester United have future prospects in Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, a more immediate replacement is needed given Wayne Rooney's inconsistency in front of goal in the past few seasons. The 26-year-old is seen as the perfect addition given his eye for goal and pace off the mark.

United have often failed to convert plenty of chances a bunch of their midfielders are able to create and a pacy finisher like Aubameyang may be able to finally bring the legendary club back to the level its supposed to be in. Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger are able to create clear-cut chances for a finisher to put away and the Gabon would excel with such a mdifield behind him.

However, Manchester United aren't the only side to be after Aubameyang. Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea, are also said to be interested in signing the former St Etinenne man along with the big fish, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

While Manchester United might outbid all of those clubs and include higher wages, Aubameyang has himself said he'd loved to play for the Los Blancos one day. "Real Madrid? There's no deal in place, but... I promised my granddad I'd play there one day," he said.

Further adding, "Like I've said before, I'd love to play in Spain and to finally enjoy a bit of good weather."

Arsenal, according to a few top-brass journalists, already bid for Aubameyang back in January to the tune of around £60m with the German club having rejected it outright considering they wanted him to play for the rest of the season with them.
