When Forlan completed his move to Manchester United, it was thought to be a passing the baton kind of movement. Manchester United, at the time, boasted some of the best strikers in Europe. Forlan spent 4 years at the club, but as they say that some things are not meant to be, Forlan’s United venture wasn’t a success.
Forlan played close to 100 matches for the English giants, scoring a meagre 17 goals. He was offloaded in the summer of 2004 as the Spanish club Villareal came calling. However, he was an instant hit in Spain, scoring goals for fun.
