What’s the story?
Manchester United are set for some more huge spending in the summer transfer window and now latest reports from The Sun claim that the Red Devils are all set to beat Barcelona in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s highly rated youngster Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman who is just 19 has been in stunning form for the Bundesliga side and has arguably been their best player this season. While Dembele himself is said to prefer a move to Barcelona, United are ready to stump up the £50 million cash required to sign the talented teenager.

Dembele turned down offers from a host of big clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona in the previous season to sign with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. The former Rennes man felt that he would get regular playing time and the belief has been rewarded as he has quickly established himself as an integral member of Thomas Tuchel’s vibrant Dortmund side.
The 19-year-old forward has already made more than 40 appearances for Dortmund and has experience of playing at the very top level.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is determined to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League and the signing of Ousmane Dembele would definitely improve the Red Devils.
Also, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the wrong side of 30 and Anthony Martial failing to inspire any confidence, Dembele might just prove to be a breath of fresh air in the sometimes jaded Manchester United attack. However, this signing will not be easy to complete as only a huge amount of money will convince Dortmund to part with their prized asset.

Borussia Dortmund might have been eliminated from the Champions League by an impressive Monaco side, but they will be determined to end the season strongly and qualify for Champions League next season. Ousmane Dembele will do well to keep himself away from all this attention and continue putting in impressive performances till the end of the season.
