Manchester United confirm Alex Buttner departure to Dynamo Moscow

Alex Buttner leaves Manchester United

Manchester United has have confirmed that defensive flop Alexander Buttner has departed the club and signed for Russia Premier League club, Dynamo Moscow.

Buttner claimed himself last week that he was signing for Dynamo Moscow with the final details of the transfer set to be ironed out. He signed for Man United in 2012 but failed to nail down a place in the first-team and even struggled to impress in short bursts as back-up to Patrice Evra.

Dynamo finished fourth in the Russian Premier League last season and Butter claimed last week he was to undergo his medical ahead of completing his move away from Old Trafford.

Buttner made just 28 appearances for Man United under three different managers: Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes and then Ryan Giggs. He left the club after finding out that the Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal was set to take over at Old Trafford once the World Cup had finished.

The Dutchman replaces Moyes and has hired Giggs as his assistant manager ahead of next season and Buttner was not best pleased with Van Gaal’s decision to not call him up for the World Cup, despite apparently winning 14 Man of the Match awards at Man Utd.
