Manchester United have made an opening bid of for Lyon Striker Moussa Dembele, according to Goal. The Frenchman joined Lyon from Celtic last summer and has enjoyed a fruitful season with his new team. His performances have earned rave reviews and a lot of clubs have been monitoring him. United were one of them, with Solskjaer on the look out for a new striker.

Goal also reports that the Red Devils have been interested in the Frenchman for quite some time now and with Romelu Lukaku presumably out of Solskjaer's plans for next season, the Norwegian might be tempted to go all out for Dembele. Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has reportedly given his approval for the deal.

Dembele had 46 appearances for Lyon this season, scored 20 goals and registered 4 assists. He is a fast, skillful striker who likes to dribble and also knows his way to the goal. Dembele would certainly be a fine addition to Solskjaer's team, if United can manage to get the deal across the line.
