The Champions League is hours away from restarting but as always, all the top clubs from around Europe won't stop looking at potential summer targets in order to strengthen their weak areas. On that note, let's take a look at all the top transfer news that made headlines on February 13, 2018:

Manchester United eyeing two centre-backs worth over £100 million

If the Daily Mirror is to be believed, Jose Mourinho is looking to revamp his defence in the summer and has finalized two central targets. Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United was said to be the last straw with the manager now looking for upgrades on the English duo of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. Just as Liverpool did with Van Dijk and City did with Laporte, United now want to invest heavily in centre-backs.

Harry Maguire of Leicester City is the first player on Mourinho's radar who has impressed the Special One with his robust displays for the Foxes. Maguire is valued at around £50 million by the Premier League side. The second target is Real Madrid's Raphael Varane who has been a long-term target for Mourinho.

The duo goes a long way back with Mourinho being the boss who gave a debut to the Frenchman. Varane is also reportedly looking for a reunion but will cost higher than Maguire. Looking at their market values, Maguire and Varane will cost United around £120 million.

David Moyes not looking to leave West Ham United at the end of the season

The Hammers boss has revealed to Talksport that he is not looking to leave the London club at the end of the season. Moyes was signed in November on a deal until the end of the season with a job to keep West Ham safe from relegation. He has done that successfully until now with West Ham currently in 12th position, five points away from the drop zone.

Miralem Pjanic turned down Arsenal and Spurs in the past

Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has revealed to the Telegraph that he rejected Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur twice in the past. Pjanic turned down Spurs when he was with Roma whereas he rejected Arsenal's advances during his initial days with Lyon. Pjanic will now lineup against Tottenham in the Champions League for the Turin side.

Luis Alberto could have left Lazio in January

After an impressive run of form in the Italian capital, Luis Alberto was recently rewarded with a new deal to stay with Lazio until 2022. But it has now been revealed that Alberto had offers to leave Serie A during the winter market.

Alvaro Torres, his agent recently revealed to Mediaset, "He received important offers that were rejected by the club and the player. I think that it’s difficult for him to leave Lazio in summer, and he hopes to be called up for the World Cup.”

Borussia Dortmund looking to sign Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal

The Bundesliga giants will look to try and complete a permanent move for Michy Batshuayi in the summer. Borussia Dortmund signed Batshuayi on deadline day for a short loan spell with the Belgian forward impressing straightaway, scoring three goals in his first two matches.

According to the Daily Mail, Dortmund did try to sign Batshuayi on a permanent basis in January but their notion was rejected by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Arsenal enter race for Hamburg wonderkid

Touted as one of the brightest prospects in Germany at the moment, Josha Vagnoman has attracted interest from all over Europe. The 17-year-old currently plays from the Hamburg reserves and is yet to sign a professional contract.

The Sun reports that Arsenal have scouted Vagnoman recently and are interested in the teenager who can play at both the fullback positions. Valued at around €4 million, Vagnoman is also on the radar of Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Atletico Madrid scout Timo Werner

According to Bild, Atletico Madrid officials scouted Timo Werner over the weekend in RB Leipzig's 2-0 win over Augsburg. Werner has been linked with a move away from Germany since the last summer.

Real Madrid were reportedly interested in him but it seems to be the case that their city rivals may have caught them off guard and may be looking to steal a move for the German striker. It can also be speculated that Timo Werner is being seen as a direct replacement for Antoine Griezmann who is set to depart Wandra Metropolitan in the summer.

Gareth Bale's agent provides an update on his future

Despite being linked to Manchester United on numerous occasions, Gareth Bale's agent has revealed that the Welshman does not intend on leaving Real Madrid any time soon. Jonathan Barnett also stated that Gareth Bale loves the club and is worth a transfer fee close to that of Neymar.

As reported by Manchester Evening News (original report from Tuttosport), Barnett was quoted saying, "Bale? I think he’s worth as much as Neymar. He loves Real Madrid and doesn’t want to leave. Gareth does not need Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid, he is already a top star of the club."

Newcastle United have an option to sign Martin Dubravka on a permanent basis

Chronical Live reports that Newcastle United have an option to sign Martin Dubravka on a permanent deal in the summer for £4 million. The Magpies paid £1.7 million loan fee for the Spartak Moscow shot stopper and will reportedly have to pay £3.5 million more to sign him on a permanent basis.

Dubravka made a sensational start to life in Tyneside after delivering a man of the match performance on his debut against Manchester United.

John Terry to make a decision on his future in the summer

Currently playing for Aston Villa in the Championship, John Terry has revealed that he will take a final call on his future at the end of the season. Terry's Villa deal expires in the summer but has an option to extend it further by 12 months, the Telegraph understands. Aston Villa do not want to pressurize Terry who has been an integral part of them so far in the campaign. The Londoners currently sit second in the table.
