Hello people and welcome to Sportskeeda's latest transfer need and rumours roundup. We are in the thick of the January transfer window action with deals being finalized all over Europe as we speak. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool currently seem to be the most active clubs in this window.
So without wasting further time, let's take a look at the major transfer stories from around the globe which made headlines on January 12, 2018:
Manchester United make inquiries for Jamie Vardy
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's recurring knee problems have left Manchester United a man short in attack with the management now looking for options elsewhere. The Telegraph reports that United have made initial inquiries about Leicester City's Jamie Vardy.
The former Premier League golden boot winner is reportedly eager for a move to one of the big clubs and is valued at around £35 million. He is also eligible to play in the Champions League which has intrigued the Red Devils even more. If not for Vardy, Jose Mourinho has then set his sights on bringing Javier Hernandez back to the club.
Antonio Conte set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season
The top brass at Stamford Bridge believe that Antonio Conte is set to resign after the end of the season. He has one more year left in his contract but the Italian reportedly is unhappy with the proceedings in London. All has not been well between the two parties since the last summer after the manager's public criticism of the club's transfer policy.
Chelsea have already begun their search for his replacement and have made a three-man shortlist for the summer. The Daily Mail has reported that the likes of Massimiliano Allegri, Luis Enrique and Maurizio Sarri are high on Chelsea's wishlist.
