Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal stole the limelight during the club’s player of the year awards function. The Dutchman who is in his first season with the Old Trafford club was the toast of the awards night where he discussed the Manchester United fans and how the team stuck together after a difficult start among other things.

During his seven-minute speech, the United manager described the Manchester United fans as the ‘best in the world’ and also praised the spirit of the players on a number of occasions, for sticking together after a tough start to the season.

When the presented wrapped up the proceedings, there was an encore kept in store for Van Gaal. The 63-year-old then returned to the stage and shouted: “Hello, hello, pay attention to the manager!”

United shot-stopper David De Gea swept the awards by bagging the Players’ Player of the Year as well as the Fans’ Player of the year. But the showstopper of the night was Van Gaal with his inspiring speech that is being talked about everywhere. Gary Neville even tweeted about the speech saying it was ‘great entertainment’.
