Manchester United have revealed their new away kit for the 2013-14 season.
The black-and-blue jersey has been designed with gingham checks as a tribute to Manchester’s industrial past, when the region was a leading producer of cotton.
The jersey will be unveiled at the iconic Osaka Castle in Japan, where United are playing as part of their pre-season tour. The team might even wear the jersey for the first time in the match against Cerezo Osaka at the Niigata Stadium on July 26.
In contrast to the dark coloured jersey, the AON logo, the Nike logo, and the club’s iconic crest are all displayed in white with a dark background.
Moreover, the jersey is made out of recycled polymer in order to remain environmental-friendly.
