Rio Ferdinand Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has accused the media of twisting his words, following a series of Tweets about the recent sacking of Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup. Yesterday, Ferdinand posed a question to his five million followers as to which manager they thought would be next to lose his job in the Premier League. Managerial merry go round looks on the cards again?.who next after Laudrup are we thinking?? ? Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) February 5, 2014 However, it was not long before his own boss David Moyes’ name cropped up in conversation. The Scot has previously declared the 35 year-old has helped him settle into his new position, but the defender was accused of stirring up trouble and knowing full well that the growing unrest around Old Trafford would not benefit from such careless remarks. But in his next tweet, Ferdinand claimed that he was being taken too seriously and included a picture of Different Strokes character Arnold Jackson to make light of the situation. Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) February 5, 2014 Ferdinand then launched a scathing attack on the media in general, suggesting his comments are often manipulated to create a story that does not portray his original intentions. The 35 year-old’s comments were somewhat ironic as he is a serial tweeter that often voices his opinions to the world via social media by his own will.
