One of the most outstanding players in the history of Ecuadorian football, Antonio Valencia, has joined the Whites.
The Ecuadorian footballer had left Manchester United this summer after spending 10 years with the club, since joining them from Wigan in 2009. Valencia had initially played as a right winger, before successfully transforming into a right back. He was so good at his new role that he was considered one of the best right backs in the world at one point of time. However, his form had degraded of late and last season, Valencia had hardly featured under both Solskjaer and Mourinho.
Valencia was a part of the Ecuador side who bowed out of the 2019 Copa America in the group stages. His new club, LDU Quito, are the reigning Ecuadorian Serie A Champions but are currently 7th in the midway point this season.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.

Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
