Southampton captain Adam Lallana has refused to rule out a summer exit from the club after helping the Saints beat Everton 2-0.

Lallana has been linked with a move away from St Mary’s all season with Liverpool and Manchester United thought to be interested in the Englishman.

He has been fantastic this season and has earned a lot of praise among his peers and those in the media. Lallana was handed his first England cap in a defeat to Chile in 2013 and is expected to be named in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.

There have been rumours recently that Man United were ready to bid for Lallana and he refused to rule out any such departure, speaking to the press after beating Everton at St Mary’s.

“I just want to enjoy my football,” he told BT Sport. “That’s when I’m at my happiest, when I’m playing well.

“Playing in a great, youthful team like this I feel like one of the experienced players nowadays.

“I just want to concentrate on the last two games of the season and we’ll sit down in the summer and see what happens.”

The midfielder has been at the club since 2000 when he was a part of their youth academy. He rose to the first-team and became captain after playing as low as League One with the Saints. He could now be set to make a big-money move to one of England’s biggest clubs.

Lallana has created 68 chances in the Premier League this season, more than any other English player.
