Manchester United to launch third bid for Fabregas

On Manchester United’s radar

Barcelona have told Manchester United that Cesc Fabregas is not for sale, despite their attempts to lure him to Old Trafford. The champions of England are still keen to land Fabregas and may bid £35 million for the midfielder according to The Guardian.

Manchester United had a bid of £30m plus add-ons rejected earlier this week. In order to capture Fabregas’ signature United must smash their record transfer fee (£30.75 million they paid Tottenham Hotspur for Dimitar Berbatov) to land the former Arsenal and Spanish midfielder. If Fabregas does join the Old Trafford club, he would become United’s record signing.

The 26-year-old has said to be happy to stay at the Camp Nou and insist his future lies in Spain. Reports in the Catalan also suggest Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has officially written to Manchester United to insist the former Arsenal midfielder will not be sold this summer.

Former Manchester United player Gerard Pique told The Sun: “United are wasting their time. It took a long time for Cesc to get his dream move back home and he won’t give it up. This is home, it is where his family is, and he is playing with his closest friends.

Manchester United are stepping up their chase for Cesc, but David Moyes has acknowledged a point does come when they will have to give up their pursuit and concentrate on other targets.
