Premier League champions Manchester United will try out a singing section at their stadium when Real Sociedad visit Old Trafford for the Champions League play-off. Sky Sports reports.
A previous attempt was disowned by authorities due to the shifting of visiting fans to the managers area.
In spite of the previous trial backfiring Manchester United officials, who used the service of an acoustic engineer this year, are all in for a fresh trial which will see the participation of the clubs supporters.
Around 1,400 die-hard United supporters will be shifted to the South East side of the stadium which mostly accommodates the away fans on 23rd October when Sociedad come to visit.
The club has called for the participation of season ticket holders to put down their names for the singing section. Club members will also be given a chance to test their vocal cords.
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has pledged his support to the initiative and said on social networking site Twitter: “Great idea to have a singing section. If I was going as a fan that’s where I’d be…”
