It's no secret that Manchester United are on the hunt for a sturdy defender to improve their ailing backline. Solskjaer has already drawn up a shortlist of potential defenders he would like to have at Old Trafford and it seems he has made a new addition to that list.

According to certain reports, the Red Devils are eyeing Ruben Dias as a suitable alternative for Kalidou Koulibaly, who will only be available for a mammoth price of £150m. On the contrary, the SL Benfica center-back can be snapped up for just £52m.

Dias is also six years younger than Koulibaly and would be a better option in the long term. However, the Portuguese defender's release clause could increase to £87m if Benfica manage to convince him to put pen to paper on a new contract.
