What is the story?

Benfica striker Haris Seferovic has Urged Joao Felix to stay at their current club. Seferovic also thinks that Felix would become one of the best if he continues his shiny career with the 2018-19 Liga NOS champions.

In case you didn't know

Joao Felix completed an extraordinary campaign with S.L. Benfica, sealing the 2018-19 Liga NOS championship with the Portuguese side. This season, the 19-year-old star scored 20 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions. His brilliant performances for the Encarnados attracted a number of European heavyweights.

In recent weeks, Manchester United emerged favourites to land the Portuguese winger. Despite linking with numerous transfer targets, United have not completed a deal yet. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to revamp his struggling squad. It is claimed that the United manager wants some new young blood at their club instead of famous marquee players.

Manchester United failed to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League, racking up only 66 points from 38 matches in the Premier League. Hence, the Red Devils will feature in the Europa League next season.

The heart of the matter

Speaking to Portuguese daily A Bola (via Manchester Evening News), Seferovic explained Joao Felix's impact in their squad. He said:

“I’ve played with many good players during my time with all the clubs in the past, but the understanding with Joao Felix is the best.
“He can reach the top.

Then, he urged Felix to stay with the Portuguese side for the next season by saying,

“He has everything to be a great player. I hope he takes it easy, then he’ll go to the top.
“I’d like him to stay [with Benfica]. I want him to stay, he has to stay.”

What is next?

Man United have to pay an £89million release clause to bring the Portuguese ace at Old Trafford. According to a few reports, Atletico Madrid could give a strong challenge as they are determined to bring in Joao as the replacement for Antoine Greizmann, who is going to leave the Madrid side during the summer.
