It has been reported that the young spanish goalkeeper david de gea is on the verge of completing a move to the english champions manchester united . The 20 year goaloe who recently lifted the u-21 european championship with spain is set to part with his boyhood club athletico madrid and move to the english shore .Manchester will be coughing more than 17 millions for this young sensation . With the player set to take a medical at bridge water hospital the deal is to be concluded soon . Though the deal was already in the pipeline but was put on hold due the spaniard’s participation in the u-21 european championship .

De Gea would be succeeding Edwin van der sar who has left a legacy at the club and the young spaniard must fulfill the expectations of the united faithfuls who will be expecting a lot from him particularly after what he has been doing in the la liga but it would be too harsh to compare him with a legend who has been in the game for more than 20 years .

Moreover this puts a doubt regarding the situation of all the remaining goalkeepers at united i.e. Tomas kuszczak and Anders lindegaard who will drop down the pecking order once david de gea arrives ,with the former already announcing his intention to quit the english giant if he was not guaranteed more first team action after van der sar’s retirement .
