#4 Alderweireld update
It seems as though matters have hit a gridlock regarding a potential deal over the sale of Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United. The Belgian’s contract allows other clubs to sign him for £25 million next summer for the last 15 days of the window.
And since he isn’t agreeing upon a new deal with the Lilywhites, there is a good chance that he will be sold this summer. However, Tottenham want £75 million for the star defender as they think he deserves that amount after Liverpool paid the same for Virgil Van Dijk.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are not one to budge. They rate him at £55 million and will not be paying as much as Spurs are demanding – at least that is what this report from Independent.ie claims – and have made it clear that they will walk away from the deal should Spurs stay adamant.
