What's the story?

According to reports, Manchester United are looking to offload their Argentine centre back, Marcos Rojo as they look to create space for a new central defender to solve their defensive frailties.

In case you didn't know

Manchester United currently sit in 6th place in the Premier League with 41 points respectively.

Marcos Rojo has played 110 games in all competitions for United, scoring 2 goals in his time at the club. The 28-year-old has also played 59 games for Argentina, scoring the same number of goals that he has achieved for Manchester United.

He has recently returned to his homeland to recover, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said "He's [Rojo] gone back to Argentina for a while with his injury. For him, it's mentally important for him to get away and come back fresh again".

Heart of the matter

Manchester United have central defenders like Phil Jones, Eric Baily, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof in their current squad. In the summer transfer window, Manchester United failed to sign a single defender. So, the Manchester United board is ready to land a high-skilled defender in this January, but at first, they have to cut off their squad size. Marcos Rojo has not made any kind of influential performances this season for his club. His injuries are the main reason why he has made only 2 appearances for the club.

Rumour probability: 7/10

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United have earned the real taste of positive results as they are still unbeaten. We could see a few new signings in the next summer when Manchester United will bring their next manager. And for now, they have to create some space for those newcomers.

What's next?

According to a few reports, Some clubs like Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers could be the next possible destination for the Argentinian as the deal could take place in this January transfer window.
