Manchester United transfer round-up: Perisic deal still alive, Mahrez attracts United bid and more

FC Internazionale Milano v Hellas Verona FC - Serie A

Still time for a Perisic move?

Perisic deal not dead yet

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are once again interested in signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan and according to Sky Sports, a deal could go through before the end of deadline day.

Inter were reluctant on getting anything below £42million for the Croatian attacker or wanted Anthony Martial in return, however, United refused to meet either of the two demands and cooled off their interest in the player.

Since then Alexis Sanchez, Riyad Mahrez and Marco Asensio have been linked with a move to Old Trafford. Mourinho, however, is still keen on Perisic and is believed to be pushing Ed Woodward to get the deal done.

Inter are aware of Perisic's dream of playing for Man United, however, the Italian side may pass on the deal as it would be too late for them to sign any viable replacement.

Keita Balde was in line to join Inter this summer from Lazio, but the player ended up joining AS Monaco which could force Perisic to stay at Inter for another season.

Mahrez waiting for an offer from Man United

Is Mahrez Mourinho's final signing of the season?

Riyad Mahrez sent the deadline day transfer activities into a frenzy when Sky Sports confirmed that the winger has been given a day off to complete a transfer to the new club.

Earlier in the day, it was suggested that Chelsea had all but agreed a move for the Algerian winger, however, Sky Sports understand that Manchester United are also one of the teams chasing the Leicester City star.

Mahrez wants to quit the King Power Stadium today and is hopeful of a bid from the Red Devils. Sky Sports understand United will make a final offer for Mahrez which may be in the region of £40million forcing Leicester to sell their unhappy attacker.

Asensio a possibility on the deadline day

Manchester United are ready to test Marco Asensio's resolves by making a late £55million bid on the deadline day and offer him a starting XI place, according to Don Balon.

Asensio has been in superb form this season but is yet to sign on a new Real Madrid deal. Los Blancos are confident of keeping Asensio at the club and agree a new contract with the Spanish winger and insert a £350million release clause in his contract.

However, Don Balon claims United's interest has made Asensio re-think his decision as he could be the main man at Old Trafford while he may have to be under the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale at Real Madrid.

Premier League's summer transfer window ends at 11 PM (BST) later tonight and United will have to submit a concrete bid in coming hours to ensure Mourinho gets his fourth summer signing.
