Manchester United want to sign Welsh wizard from Tottenham

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Manchester United have recently shown interest in Tottenham’s star Gareth Bale, but have been told that they will have to cough up at least £70 million if they want to sign the 23 year old Welsh wizard.

It is understood that Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill has had discussions regarding a possible move for the in-form winger.

But White Hart Lane Chairman Daniel Levy did not make things easy for the Premier League leaders as they were taken aback by the £70million price tag for Bale.

Despite the fact that the winger has three and a half years remaining in his current contract, sources report that Tottenham are considering to double Bale’s current £75k a week deal to a £150k a week, five year deal. The club seems to be doing everything it can to keep the winger at White Hart Lane. They hope that a secured spot in the Champions League will help convince Bale to stay.

Sir Alex Ferguson may be very keen on bringing the Welsh wizard to Old Trafford, but may not be willing to meet the £70million valuation.

Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the other clubs who are very keen on signing the in-form star.
