#6 Harry Maguire | Defender | £195,000 per week

Harry Maguire cost Manchester United a fortune when he arrived from Leicester City last summer.

While he has not solved Manchester United’s defensive crisis, there’s no denying that the Englishman has vastly improved the club's backline. He was handed the armband last season after the departure of Ashley Young and guided his team to third place in the league.

After a tough summer, Maguire has been forced to rediscover himself at the heart of the Manchester United defence. The Red Devils have endured a torrid start to the season, and the Englishman’s role has been questioned again.

However, Maguire continues to be indispensable in the Manchester United backline once more, and Solskjaer can count on the Englishman to rally his team forward.

Maguire is currently under contract at the club till the summer of 2025, and with a salary of £195,000 per week, he is the sixth-higher earner at Manchester United right now.

#5 Edinson Cavani | Forward | £210,000 per week

Edinson Cavani was signed for free this summer, and while his arrival at Manchester United has been hotly debated, there’s no denying that the Uruguayan continues to be one of the sharpest marksmen in European football.

Cavani’s involvement with the Manchester United first team has been limited due to fitness issues, but the Uruguayan has already shown against Everton that he can be ruthless in front of goal.

Solskjaer has preferred to use Cavani from the bench so far, but the Uruguayan’s experience could be as valuable as his goals this season for the Red Devils. Manchester United have a crop of young attackers who would be delighted to pick up the finer details of the trade from the legendary striker.

Cavani is on a one-year contract at Manchester United right now, with an option for another year. He earns a massive salary of £210,000 per week at the club.

#4 Anthony Martial | Forward | £250,000 per week

Anthony Martial enjoyed a dream debut for Manchester United in 2015, scoring on against Liverpool to enter club folklore. However, the Frenchman failed to build on his impressive first season at Old Trafford and was on the verge of a departure from the club until Solskjaer showed up.

The Norwegian reinstated Martial as the number 9 last season, and the player responded with his best-ever season in professional football.

The Frenchman managed 23 goals from 48 appearances last term, but after a red card and subsequent suspension at the start of the season, has only two goals from seven appearances this season.

However, Martial continues to be the focal point of the Manchester United attack and looks set to reign Old Trafford for a few more years. His current contract with the club expires in the summer of 2024, and he currently earns £250,000 per week.

#3 Marcus Rashford | Forward | £250,000 per week

Marcus Rashford’s meteoric rise to stardom in football is only matched by his benevolence off the field during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Manchester United striker is one of the best young footballers in the world at the moment but has turned out to be an even better human being. Rashford already has 74 goals from 226 appearances for the Red Devils; he is still only 23 years old.

Last season, the Englishman was in blistering form, scoring 22 goals from 44 appearances even though back problems played spoilsport. This term, Rashford already has seven goals from 12 games, so Manchester United fans could be in for a treat as the season unfolds.

The Englishman, who has been at Old Trafford since he was seven years old, is currently under contract with the club till June 2023 and earns £250,000 per week.

#2 Paul Pogba | Midfielder | £290,000 per week

Paul Pogba has been a paradox for the entire span of his second spell with Manchester United. The Frenchman lit up Turn during his four-year stay at Juventus but has failed to consistently replicate that form at Old Trafford. He has seen Bruno Fernandes take over the creative responsibilities of the team since arriving earlier this year, and that trend has not changed in the new season too.

The Frenchman’s continued flirtation with Real Madrid has also put him in the wrong book with the fans. His current deal at the club was due to expire at the end of this season, but Manchester United have triggered the option of an additional year.

Pogba is currently the second-best paid footballer at Manchester United, with a weekly salary of £290,000. The Red Devils are reportedly working on an extension to prolong his stay at the club.

#1 David de Gea | Goalkeeper | £375,000 per week

David de Gea is the only footballer who has consistently managed to hold his place in the Manchester United team since his arrival at the club.

The Spaniard has been the first-choice goalkeeper under Sir Alex Ferguson and also under every subsequent manager at the club. It is a testament of his quality and consistency, and perhaps it is only fitting that he is the highest-paid footballer at Manchester United.

De Gea has been monumental between the sticks over the years, guarding the goal like a one-man army at times. His performances were questionable last season, but the Spaniard has been in spectacular form once again this term.

De Gea is set to stay at Manchester United till June 2023. He currently earns a massive salary of £375,000 per week at the club.
