Manchester United may not be getting any laurels on the pitch for their performance this season but their youth players could change all that next year. United have one of the best youth systems in Europe and their academy has produced numerous superstars in the years gone by. Former manager Sir Alex Ferguson was known to put a lot of faith in his youth players and David Moyes is carrying on the tradition started by his illustrious predecessor.

A name that is tricky to pronounce but is on almost every Red Devils supporter’s lips in Adnan Januzaj. The young Belgian impressed during the clubs pre-season tour and has carried on his form in the new season. Some promising performances off the benched we’re topped with a memorable brace by the 18-year-old against Sunderland. What a way to make your home debut as a United player. David Moyes has put his faith in the teenager and the Belgian repaid his manager by committing his long term future to the club.

Nick Powell was an unknown when he was signed for £4 million by Manchester United from Crewe Alexandra in 2012. All that changed when he made his debut for the club against Wigan Athletic, a magnificent 25 yard goal sealed his name in the hearts of the Old Trafford faithful forever. The midfielder continued his strong from in the reserves which lead to him being named in United’s Champions League squad last year. Powell has since gone on loan to the same club he scored against and did not disappoint them with a brace against NK Maribor, going on to become Wigan’s first-ever European goal-scorer. The 19-year old will surely be the answer to Manchester United’s nagging midfield problems in the future.

While he has not feature fully for United yet Jesse Lingard is sure to carve a niche for himself in the club. The talented attacking midfielder has been with Manchester United since his schoolboy days and will become another player to roll off their long line of superstars. Lingard was impressive for United’s Under-21 team and scored a crucial goal against arch-rivals Liverpool in the Under-21 Premier League. Lindgard has gone out on loan to Birmingham City and marked his debut with a remarkable 4 goals. He will be an integral part of Manchester United if he continues his exploits.

The youth system of Manchester United first gained fame when they produced the unforgettable ‘Class of 92′. These six players which consisted of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers Phil and Gary went on to achieve legendary status at the club. ‘Fergie’s Fledglings, as they we’re fondly called, won the famous treble in 1999. These players helped United become the team they are today and the upcoming players can look to them for inspiration. Phil Neville and Nicky Butt already have coaching roles at the club while Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes will take up coaching roles in the near future. With the advice of these players the trio of Januzaj, Powell and Lingard will excel at Old Trafford.
