Most of you may have never even heard his name, but 29-year-old Argentinian Dario Conca makes more money than both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo!
The attacking midfielder, who currently plays for Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande, earns 10.6 million pounds/year, as compared to Lionel Messi, who makes 10.5 million pounds/year and Cristiano Ronaldo, who makes 10 million pounds/year.
Conca has enjoyed a fair amount of success in his previous clubs, which include Argentinian side River Plate, and Brazilian side Fluminense, where was voted player of the year.
Conca has also featured in the Argentina U-20 team, where he made 9 appearances, netting a solitary goal.
Of course, it is to be noted that these figures are salaries only, and Messi and Ronaldo earn a large amount of money in endorsement deals.
These figures only go to show the amount of money clubs outside the big leagues of Europe (England, Spain, Italy and Germany) are willing to spend to bring in quality players, and not necessarily just big names.
